Nothing is signed without understanding it
Camp Gee Football Academy treats every document affecting a player's football career as a serious decision that belongs to the player and, where the player is under 18, to their parent or guardian.
Principles
How Camp Gee handles agreements
- Any agreement affecting a player's football career is explained in clear language before signature.
- Players are given time to read, ask questions and take advice before signing anything.
- Independent legal advice is actively encouraged, never discouraged.
- Parents or guardians must be involved for every player under 18.
- A player may decline to sign without losing their place at the academy.
- Players receive a copy of anything they sign.
Player rights
Rights that always remain with the player
- The right to understand any document before signing it
- The right to independent legal advice
- The right to parental or guardian involvement when under 18
- The right to decline an opportunity or agreement
- The right to be treated with dignity and respect
- The right to safeguarding and welfare protection
- The right to privacy over medical and personal records
- The right to raise a concern or complaint without penalty
Players are not products
Camp Gee Football Academy does not describe or treat players as products, property or assets. Players are athletes whose rights, welfare, development and informed choices come first.
